Gandhi has urged Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to personally engage
with students protesting alleged irregularities in the state’s recruitment
examinations, even as the agitators have demanded that the Congress withdraw
support to the JMM-led government if their concerns remain unaddressed.
In a letter to Soren Rahul
Gandhi said the students’ agitation had remained peaceful and their grievances
were legitimate. He asked the chief minister to meet representatives of the
protesting students and take steps to resolve the issues that are still
pending. The Congress is a constituent of the ruling JMM-led coalition in
Jharkhand.
